What is HTML?

HTML stands for Hypertext Markup language.

HTML is a language which is used to display the content on the web.

HTML is a markup language that is used to create the web pages. It defines how the web page looks.It defines how to display the content with the help of elements or Tags of HTML. It is used to defines the structure of the Web Page.

HTML Stands for HyperText Markup Language, where

1. HyperText stands for Link between web pages.It simply means "Text within Text".Hypertext is text which contains links to other texts. A text has a link within it, is a hypertext. Whenever we click on a text for link that bring us to a new webpage, we have clicked on a hypertext.
2. Markup Language means Text between tags that define the structure.
3. Web Page A web page is a document which is used to display the display the content on the web.It is commonly written in HTML language and translated by the web browser.We can only create static web pages with the help of html. Because a web page can be the static or dynamic type.
4. Extension: HTML page is always saved with the extension .html
