Past Continuous Tense

Recognition(पहचान):

Past continuous tense में हिन्दी वाक्यों के अन्त में रहा था, रही थी, रहे थे आदि शब्द आते हैं|

For example:

  1. वह इंग्लिश पढ़ा रहा था |
  2. वे newspaper पढ़ रहे थे |
  3. क्या वह पत्र लिख रही थी ?
  4. हम वीडियो गेम नहीं खेल रहे थे |

Examples of Affirmative /Simple sentences

Rule:

Subject+was/were+First form of Verb+ing+Other Words.

Use of Was:- (I,He,She,It,Any name)

Use of Were:- (We,You,They)

  1. I was teaching English.
  2. She was speaking in English.
  3. It was raining here.
  4. He was playing games.
  5. She was cooking food.
  6. We were playing cricket.
  7. I was talking to my father.
  8. We were buying new computers.
  9. We were creating a new group on WhatsApp.
  10. He was writing a book.
  11. They were going to institute.
  12. I was helping him to do the task.



Examples of Negative sentences:

Rule:

Subject+was/were+not+First form of Verb+ing+Other Words.

  1. He was not concentrating on studies.
  2. They were quarreling with each other.
  3. I was not going to office.
  4. She was not speaking correct English.
  5. You were playing alone.
  6. You were not listening to me.
  7. Gita was not waiting for us.
  8. I wasn't paying attention while I was teaching.
  9. They were not dancing.
  10. She was not cooking food.



Examples of Interrogative sentences:

Was/Were+Subject+First form of Verb+ing+Other Words+ ?

  1. Were to speaking to him in English?
  2. Was he teaching English?
  3. Were they playing PUBG?
  4. Was he downloading a software?
  5. Was she attending the class?
  6. Were they going to college?
  7. Were we eating junk food?
  8. Was he following you?
  9. Were they enjoying the party?
