What is verb ?

Verbs are the action words in a sentence that describe what the subject is doing.We can also call them doing words that shows an action or an event.Verbs are the main part of a sentence .No sentence can be completed without a verb.

Examples of Verb:

  1. Neha is learning English.
  2. Mohan eats his dinner quickly.
  3. We went to the market.
  4. You write neatly in your notebook.
  5. They thought about all the prizes in the competition.



Types of Verb:

  1. Action Verbs

    2. Action verbs are used for specific actions.These are used at the time we want to show an action and shows someone is doing something.

    4. Smile
    5. Jump
    6. Do
    7. Go
    8. Stand
    9. Listen

  2. Auxiliary/Helping Verbs

    3. Auxiliary verbs are also known as helping verbs.These are used together with a main verb to make a sentence meaningful.

    5. Shall
    6. Is
    7. Are
    8. have
    9. Had
