Past Perfect Continuous Tense

Recognition(पहचान):

Past Perfect Continuous Tense में हिन्दी वाक्यों के अन्त में से _रहा था , से _रही थी ,से _रहे थे आदि आता है|इस tense में activity के बीते हुए समय में काम जारी रहने का पता चलता है |

For example:

  1. वह 1999 से पढ़ा रहा था |
  2. दो दिनों से वर्षा हो रही थी|
  3. क्या वह तीन घंटो टेनिस खेल रही थी?
  4. वे यहाँ 2001 से काम कर रही थी|

Examples of Affirmative /Simple sentences

Rule:

Subject+had+been+First form of Verb+ing+since/for+Other Words.

Since is used with perfect time.Like: 2005,4 O'clock,January,Morning,Sunday etc.

For is used with countable time.Like: four years,two hours,six months,three days,several days etc.

  1. He had been teaching since 2000.
  2. She had been working in a school for five years.
  3. They had been running the institute since 2000.
  4. She had been cleaning the room since 3 o'clock.
  5. Rima had been waiting for father since evening.
  6. We had been playing in the park for two hours.
  7. She had been reading newspaper for an hour.
  8. I had been writing a story since Sunday.
  9. He had been watching television since 9 AM.
  10. The had been planning for the party for five days.



Examples of Negative sentences:

Subject+had+not+been+First form of Verb+ing+since/for+Other Words.
  1. I had not been speaking in English for two months.
  2. She had not been cooking food for two years.
  3. He had not been improving his communication skills.
  4. He had been not taking medicine for two months.
  5. They had not been replying to me for two hours.
  6. I had not been doing a job.
  7. He had not been calling your clients .
  8. We had not been eating junk food.
  9. He had not been earning money.
  10. You had not been studying your book for six days.
